Just six days ago the new Turkish Lira sign was revealed to the globe at a press conference where Prime Minister Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Finance Minister Ali Babacan, and Erden Basci the Turkish central Bank Governor all held a public meeting to announce the new currency symbol.

definitely eye catching. The meanings behind the Lira symbol are meaningful and yet interesting indeed. Which according to
TRT Arabic news, the Turkish Central Bank announced that the symbol reflects a ship anchor, which symbolizes security. Whereas the two parallel lines at the top symbolize the role of bridging the East and the West. What's more fascinating about the design is, the upward shift at the lower end of the Lira symbol that reflects an optimistic outlook on both financial rising and stability of the Turkish economy.
